HOLT, Eunice - born c. 1808, died 18 Jul 1878
Eunice HOLT is found owning land in Benton Co., IA in 1855 and is also in the Benton Co. 1860 and 1870 census. She died 18 July 1878 and I'm trying to verify if she died in Benton Co. Would there be ANY records available? Her husband, Nathan HOLT, is found in the 1880 Hamilton Co., IA census and there is a tombstone for both of them in Homewood Cemetery, Hamilton Co., IA but I don't know if she died in Benton or Hamilton Co. Any hints for further information would be greatly appreciated!

HOLT, Eunice (Mrs. Byron) died 18 Jul 1878 Benton or Hamilton Co., IA
Eunice is in the 1870 census for Benton Co. but is buried in Hamilton Co. where her children lived. Would there be newspapers from that era that might have an obituary?

Raymond PEACOCK b. March 08, 1885 to Edward and Augusta Hall PEACOCK in Iowa County but lived with family in Benton County. He was married to Winnie JOHNSON 1910. By 1913 Winnie PEACOCK claimed she was Raymond's widow. No one can find any death of Raymond PEACOCK at that time or any other nor can we find him in any other state.

This is just a thank you note. You volunteers found confirmation of my Great Grandmother, her burial place in Urbana Cemetery (I visited it yesterday, Easter Sunday) Catherine V. GRIFFIN.
Also the wedding date of my Grandparents John H. HARVEY and Mary E. GRIFFEN April 22, 1866. Thank you very much. If there is an obit. for Catherine GRIFFEN, died Aug. 13, 1863 that would be great.

Hi, I came across your project site. I am a descendant of Knute SAMPSON and am wondering if there is anyone that might have some information of his first wife Carrie ERICKSON. The other side of my family history lists her as Carrie MATHREY. Hardly anything is known about her. Carrie was beaten by two robbers and it was so great an ordeal that she was sent back to her family in Illinois ablong with her very young son Bertram Sampson. She died in an insane asylum and that's all we know.
