Two people are dead and a nine-year-old boy critically injuried following a fiery one-vehicle accident in Ringgold
county late Monday night. Suzanne WITT of Shannon City and Brian SMITH of Creston died in the accident. Suzanne's son,
Matthew WITT, is in critical condition in a Des Moines hospital. The accident happened when the pickup they were
traveling in went out of control and the right side of the truck slid off a bridge into the Plum Creek bed, a 14-foot drop. Matthew was
able to escape the vehicle that was engulfed in flames.
Another chapter in the reunion story of Mickey MILLER and his English daughter took place this past week when Jane WELLS
of Boston, England, a community on the northeast coast about 150 miles northeast of London, came to visit MILLER. WELLS
and her husband, Richard, spent a week visiting with MILLER and attended the Midwest Country Music Theater in Redding
that MILLER operates.
Heidi LUTRICK of Mount Ayr, student at Northwest Missouri State University, took part in a trip to the Chicago Fashion
Group Career seminar at the Chicago Art Institute, visiting the Apparel Center and Merchandise Mart.
Dwight INGRAM is the new pastor at the Kellerton Christian Church. He fills the position vacated by Merlin WILKINS of
Creston.
Zach GUNSOLLEY of Diagonal was presented with a plaque in recognition of his poster that won his age group in the
Region 8 conservation art contest. The poster will continue on to state competition.
The MACHS boys basketball team came off the holiday break to post a pair of wins. In the game against Lenox, Tracy
ANDERSON paced the Raiders with 29 points and 15 rebounds. Tony TRULLINGER added 11 points.
Shawn BUCKNER and Renee HARDY of Ankeny are the parents of a daughter, Brittany Susan, born Jan. 6, 1994 in Des Moines.
Mr. and Mrs. Dan THOMSON are the proud parents of a daughter born, Dec. 28, 1993.
Kenny and Jeannie SWANK of Omaha, NE are the parents of a daughter, Sarah Lorrayne, born Dec. 17, 1993.
