The Rev. C. E. Richardson, pastor of the First Baptist church at Herrrington, KS, has accepted a call extended by the Baptist church of this city.
H. E. Callen will retire from the barber business, in which he has been engaged in Mount Ayr for the past year, and will move Saturday to Hutchinson, KS., where he as accepted a position. He has sold his shop in
Mount Ayr to Clell Fuller, of Bedford, who for a times was employed in F. E. Richardson's shop, and with his brother-in-law, George Haldeman, was engaged in the jewelry and restaurant business in this city.
Owing to the fact that M. B. Watson, of Albany, MO, has made enough money out of the produce business to enable him to take a shot at bigger game, he is offering his produce houses in Mount Ayr and Grant City and Blythedale, MO, for immediate sale.
Peasley & Hall have completed their fine garage and moved in. The building is two stories with the upper room heated for storing cars and the workroom is below.
H. L. Abrams purchased yesterday from J. C. Crecelius his produce business and announces that the business will be continued in the old stand.
Postmaster J. A. McNerney sprang a surprise on the rural carriers a few weeks ago by presenting each with a pair of fine warm mittens.
L. C. Swan and family left Friday for their new home in Hedrick, where Brother Swan will serve as pastor of the Christian church. The trip was made in a brand new Ford purchased through the local agency and George D. Moffatt acccompanied them to give instruction in the art of driving.
DIAGONAL - Leo Williams purchased the Arcade Cafe last week of Guy Myers.
KELLERTON - Roy Hart has rented the building vacated by Peasley & Hall and will start a first-class gargage.
