T. C. REYNOLDS sold his garage Saturday to H. C. Hammond & Son, of Des Moines, possession being given Wednesday.

J. E. HOLDEN, of Cedar Rapids, recently severed his connection with the Redpath-Vawter System on October 1, and is now engaged in the land business, being interested in the sale of banana lands in Central America.

Anna MUNDUN, who had been employed here in the telephone office, resigned her position last night and returned to her home in Delphos. Mrs. LUNNEY will take her place at the board.

Beginning this (Friday) morning, the street lights will be on from 4:20 to 5:30 a.m., for the accommodation of those who wish to leave on the morning train.

KELLERTON - R. M. BOWLBY has purchased the Ted HIGGINS lot on the west side of Main Street and will commence work at once on a new one-story business building.

LESANVILLE - New officers of the Ladies' Aid Society are as follows: President, Mrs. AXTELL; vice-president, Mrs. C. H. BEASLEY; secretary, Mrs. John BREWINGTON; and treasurer, Mrs. Day TERWILLIGER. Mrs. WEBB and Mrs. Harley BEEN are new members.

HIGH SCHOOL NOTES: The Alcott Literary Society reorganized last week by electing the following officers: President, Eva WOOD; vice-president, Susan TIMBY; and secretary-treasurer, Reba ROBERTS.

The seniors and teachers held a party Friday evening at the country home of Mary BUCK southwest of town. The class went out on a hayrack and the teachers went in automobiles, Raymond BUCK and Raymond TEALE serving as chauffers. They returned to town just as the village clock tolled the hour of twelve.

  • DIAGONAL - A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Dave NICHOLS last Tuesday.

  • KELLERTON - Mr.and Mrs. R. R. BERKEY are the proud parents of a little son, born to them October 4.
