Clara Cornman
Clara Bell SICKLES, born in 1884 in Rooks County, Kansas, was one of eleven children born to Homer and Susan STEETH SICKLES.
When she was six months old, her family moved by covered wagon to Bedford, Iowa, arriving the day before Christmas. The
family settled in the Althelston community. In May of 1903, Clara married Oliver Turner CAMPBELL and to this union was born
six children: Donald (Bud); Mildred; Maude (WRIGHT), of Jerico Springs, Missouri; Wilma (HAYES), of Plano; Robert,
of Indianola, Iowa; and Richard of Albany, Missouri. Oliver [born on March 12, 1884, Taylor Co. IA] passed away on
November 16, 1931 [with interment at Platteville Cemetery, Taylor Co. IA].
In 1943, Clara married Wrayman CORNMAN and they made their home in St. Joseph, Misouri, until his death in 1962. Mrs.
CORNMAN came to Benton to make her home near her son and his wife, Bud and Lela CAMPBELL.
NOTE: Clara Bell (SICKLES) CAMPBELL CORNMAN died in 1971, and was interred at Benton Cemetery.
Donald Lloyd CAMPBELL was born on September 9, 1905, married Lela Florence VAUGHN (1905-1981), and died
June 24, 1970. He was interred at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr.
Richard Haste CAMPBELL was born on November 7, 1920, married Maxine WATTS (1922-1991), and died on November 27, 1988.
He was interred at Benton Cemetery.
