John SHANER was born October 13, 1840, Wethersfield, Henry County, Illinois, and
died February 11, 1914, Maxwell, Lincoln County, Nebraska at the age of 74. John married in 1863 to Cordelia
FLOOK, who was born circa 1845 in Illinois, and died at the age of 61 on June 25, 1906. John and Cordelia
resided in Athen Township of Ringgold County, Iowa during the 1880's and 1890's. They moved to Cottonwood Township
of Lincoln County, Nebraska.
