Nathan's English ancestor was Henry OXLEY, born in Morlidge, Derbyshire, England 04 May 1699, and died 19 Mar 1777, Point of Rocks, Loudoun Co., VA. Henry OXLEY married at Hopewell, Hunterdon Co., NH 1721 to Mary EVERETT, born 16 June 1697 (either Hempstead, Queens Co., NY or England), the daugher of Richard EVERETT or EVERIT and Mary (CLARE), and died circa 1760, Hunterdon Co., NJ. Henry and Mary (EVERETT) OXLEY's daughter Rachel OXLEY was born 30 Apr 1742, and died Oct 1779, Loudoun Co., VA. She never married but had one child with Thomas HARRIS. Rachel and Thomas's son was Joel OXLEY (1772-1843)

Rachel OXLEY, daughter of Henry OXLEY (1699-1777) and Mary EVERETT (1697- ?), was born 30 Apr 1742, and died Oct 1779, Loudoun Co., VA. She had one child with Thomas HARRIS - Joel OXLEY (1772-1843). Rachel's second son Jeremiah OXLEY (Y-DNA evidence suggests Jeremiah's father was a McGAHEY) was born Feb 1778, and died before 1824, Jefferson Co., OH. He married circa 1795 Elizabeth MURRAY who was born circa 1775, Maryland.

Savina OXLEY, daughter of Jeremiah and Elizabeth (MURRAY) OXLEY, was born 14 Nov 1808, Jefferson Co., OH, and died in Washington Twp., GuernseyCo., OH 20 Apr 1883. Savina married 09 Oct 1828, Jefferson Co., OH, to Robert MAXWELL. Robert MAXWELL was born 05 Dec 1799, Wayne Twp., Jefferson Co., OH, and died 30 Aprl 1876, Washington Twp., Guernsey Co., OH. Their son was Nathan MAXWELL (1846-1922).

John OXLEY, son of Henry OXLEY (1699-1777) and Mary EVERETT (1697- ?), was born Mar 1739/40, Hopewell Twp., Hunterdon Co., NJ, and in Loudoun Co., VA before 14 Aug 1809. John married Catherine LEWIS, who was born 14 Sep 1743, and died Jul 1780 with interment at Gum Farm, Loudoun Co., VA.

Henry OXLEY, son of John OXLEY (1729/40-before 1809) and Catherine (LEWIS) (1743-1780), was born circa 1769, Loudoun Co., VA, and died after 24 May 1809, Loudoun Co., VA; and, married 1789, Loudoun Co., VA to Jane BINLEY or BENTLY. Jane died 29 Aug 1825, Clinton Co., OH.

Lewis Binley OXLEY, son of Henry OXLEY (ca. 1769-ca. 1809) and Jane BINLEY or BENLTY (? -1825), was born 22 Jan 1808, Loudoun Co., VA, and was a farmer. He died 14 Jan 1882, Bedford, Taylor Co., IA. Lewis Binley OXLEY married 03 Nov 1825, Clinton Co., OH to Jemima TITUS, who was born 26 Apr 1805, Vernon Twp., Clinton Co., OH, and died 09 Mar 1875, Siam, Taylor Co., IA.

John Lewis OXLEY, son of Lewis Binley OXLEY (1808-1882) and Jemima (TITUS) (1805-1875), was born 04 Apr 1841, Clarksville, Clinton Co., OH. A miller and a farmer, he died 01 March 1925, Colorado Springs, CO, and was interred at Tonkawa, OK. John Lewis OXLEY married 24 Apr 1864, Taylor Co., IA, to Melissa Jane PETTIJOHN. Melissa was born at Platte Co., MO, on 05 Apr 1845, and died 14 Feb 1909, Tonkawa, OK.

Arthur Clark OXLEY, son of John Lewis OXLEY (1841-1925) and Melissa Jane (PETTIJOHN) (1845-1909), was born 14 Dec 1871, Montgomery Co., IA, and died 14 Dec 1957, San Antonio, TX. Clark was a real estate agent. He married 1st circa 1897 to Adah H. (DUSLER), born 07 Sep 1875, MO, and died 12 Jun 1962, Modoc Co., CA. Arthur married 2nd in 1931 to Flora L. (HARBERT). No children were born to Arthur's second marriage.

Clark Lewis OXLEY, son of Arthur Clark OXLEY (1871-1957) and Adah H. (DUSLER) OXLEY (1875-1962), was born 05 Jan 1905, Ringgold Co., IA, and died 24 May 1961, husband of Mary Gladys (CRONIN) OXLEY. Clark and Mary Gladys were the parents of two children: 1. Connie Lou OXLEY, and 2. child OXLEY, born 1928.

Connie Lou OXLEY, born 1927, the daughter of Clark Lewis and Mary Gladys (CRONIN) OXLEY, married Jim FAHANESTOCK who was born in 1925. Connie and Jim became the parents of four children:
