Andrew HENDERSON was born November 5, 1791 in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. Andrew was drafted on August 6, 1812 from Guernsey County, Ohio and served as a Corporal in Captain Cyrus B. P. BEATTY's Company of the Ohio Militia. He was discharged from service in February of 1813 from Fort Meigs, Ohio, and later received a military pension for his service.

Andrew married first on November 1814, Gurensey County, Ohio to Susannah BAIRD. Susannah, the daughter of John David BAIRD (1760-1843) and Susannah (FRAME) BAIRD (1765-1841), was born in Fayette County, Pennsylvania in 1793. Andrew and Susannah were the parents of three children:

    John was a Private with Company A, 78th Ohio Infantry during the Civil War
    Around 1841 John moved his family from the farm to Antrim, Ohio where he studied for the ministry at Madison College. Unable to provide for his growing family, John went back to farming and teaching.

Andrew HENDERSON married 2nd Barbara WORK on February 12, 1824, Guernsey County, Ohio. Barbara WORK was born circa 1787 in Pennsylvania. Andrew HENDERSON died March 5, 1874 in Ringgold County, Iowa, with interment in Eugene Cemetery, Jefferson Township of Ringgold County, Iowa.
