The 100th annual reunion of descendants of Samuel Clough and Mary F. Morley and their families was held Sunday, August 19, 2007, at the Jade
Garden Restaurant in Creston.Thirty-one family members from six states attended the event including Al and Dorothy Clough of Ellston; Sam Clough of Las
Vegas, NV; Howard and Delores Massey of Indianpolis, IN; Sara Mae Reese of Hidaway, TX; Shellee Wells of Saint Petersburg, FL;
Roger Morrison of
Mount Ayr; Jon Clough of Waukee; Bonnie Morris and Dakota Williams of Afton; Mike and Nancy Patterson of Eudora, Ks; Roy and Doris Clough of Lawence, KS;
Jason Clough and Allen Clough of Perry, KS; John and Jody Rains of Urbandale; Dale and Patty Haight of Ellston; LoriAnn Haight of Grimes; Marilyn Park of
Des Moines;
Mike Leo of Des Moines; Ginger Lein, Luther and Jean Haight and Lenore M. Haight of Urbandale; Mildred M. Woods of Creston; John B. Clough and
Robert R. Clough of Palatine, IL.
The oldest person present at age 93 was Lenore Haight; the youngest as Dakota Williams, age eight. The person
who came the farthest was Shellee Wells of Saint Petersburg, FL, edging out Sam Clough of Las Vegas, NV by only 38 miles.
President Al Clough gave the
invocation followed by dinner served shortly after noon. The president asked those present to introduce themselves and to ell about their family activities.
Those interested in genealogy met with Bob Clough to update their computer entries or make new ones. A collection was taken for the postage fund.
It was decided to have the next reunion next year at the same place on the third Sunday of August 2008.
The remainder of the afternoon was spent taking
pictures and visiting.
