Have you looked at John Johnson b 1813 England. He is living in Jackson Twp, Jones Co. in 1885.

Richard B Johnson b 1845 England, who married Malinda Byerly appears to be a son.

If Susan Johnson Byerly was really born in IN (her parents in England), than this cannot be her father. I question that Susan was born in IN.

John and Richard B Johnson came to America in 1871 according to the census. It would make sense that Susan came with them and married John Wesley Byerly shortly after that....

Just something to consider.

I will look at Susan Johnson Byerly's obituary next time I am in Anamosa. She was buried in Riverside Cem on 12/07/1933. There will not be a death certificate for her in Jones Co. You could order one from Des Moines, IA.
