Notes:
-- Exactly where the "village cemetery" was located is unknown by the contributor. The WPA survey in the 1930's included his name & DOD as being buried in the Johanningmeier cemetery, which later was plowed over, the remains likely removed. If so, John & his wife Margaret likely were reinterred in the Pioneer Catholic cemetery (aka Humphrey cemetery) where their names are engraved on memorial monument in that cemetery.-- The 1885 Iowa State Census, Monona twp., SW 1/4 of Section 21:
Edward Irwin, 45, single, farmer, born Ireland
John Irwin, 85, married, retired farmer, born Ireland
Margaret Irwin, 75, married, housekeeping, born Ireland
