Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Schug Marks, 79, were held at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Strawberry Point Tuesday afternoon, May 12, with the Rev. Paul G. Bauer conducting the services. Burial was in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
Lena Shug was born Oct. 12, 1879, at Strawberry Point, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Shug. She was employed as a clerk in a local store until her marriage in 1929 to Charles Marks. The couple lived in Sumner until Mr. Marks died some years ago. More recently Mrs. Marks had lived in Shell Rock, and for the past four months had resided at the Ahrens rest home in Clarksville, where she died early Saturday, May 09. She was a life member of the Lutheran Church and a member of the Lutheran Ladies Aid at Sumner.
Survivors include a stepson, Charles Marks of Marion, Ind., two step-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews, some of whom reside in the Strawberry Point area.
