Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 02, from the Gill chapel in Strawberry Point for Glen Roy Way, who died Saturday forenoon at 11:30 at the Mead nursing home in Delhi at the age of 81, after residing there for the past nine months. Prior to that time he had lived 12 years on his farm midway between Manchester and Strawberry Point.
Born June 22, 1880, in Indiana, he was the son of Washington and Olive (Vantile) Way. He was married to Miss Laura McLane at Littleport Feb. 01, 1905.
Preceded in death by his parents an infant daughter, and a son Dale, who was killed in combat during World War II, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Laura Way, rural Manchester, four daughters and five sons; Mrs. Everett (Luella) Gilbert, Delhi; Mrs. Mervin (Irma) Wilcox, Jarvis, Ore.; Mrs. Joe (June) Thompson, Salem, Ore.; Mrs. Vernon (Mildred) Schmock, Strawberry Point; Donald, Doyle and Herbert Way of Manchester, Clair of Cedar Rapids; and Calvin of Volga.
The Rev. Robert Smith was the clergyman and interment was in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
