Caroline Pust, nee Armbuster, died Monday night, April 06, 1955, at 7:35, because of complicated surgeries which she had to undergo and which were followed by apoplexy. She had reached the age of 79 years, 5 months and 17 days.
The deceased was born at Elkport on Oct. 17, 1875, as daughter of Jacob Armbuster and his wife Lydia nee Wentz. She was baptized into the Christian faith at Littleport in her early childhood, and on June 18, 1944, was confirmed in the Hope Lutheran church at Littleport, by Pastor E. H. Mueller. She was a faithful and loyal member of her church and took an active part in the work of the Hope Lutheran Ladies Aid.
On June 10, 1896, she was united in marriage by Pastor Gottlieb Fritschel to Christian Pust of Littleport. Mr. Pust died on Aug. 14, 1936. Their two children are Earl Pust and Gladys, now Mrs. Clarence Kuehl, both of Littleport.
She became ill about three weeks ago and nine days before her death was transferred to Finley hospital in Dubuque, where she underwent surgery in a last effort to prolong her life.
The deceased was preceded in death by her parents and husband, two sisters, Mrs. Lena Burrows, and Mrs. Bertha May, and two brothers, Joseph and William Armbruster.
Survivors are her afore named son and daughter; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Reichart of Dubuque, and Mrs. Anna Benschneider of Littleport, her granddaughter Mrs. Betty Johnson and great-granddaughter Paula Kay Johnson of Strawberry Point, and a large number of friends.
