Funeral services for Mayme Henry Opperman, 74, were held at St. Mary's Catholic church in Strawberry Point on Thursday morning, March 31. Burial was in the Strawberry Point cemetery with the Gill funeral service in charge of arrangements.

Mayme Henry was born in Cox Creek township, north of Strawberry Point on September 01, 1880, the daughter of Michael and Katherine Olinger Henry. She received her education in the public schools and on August 16, 1900 was married to Charles Opperman at Strawberry Point. Following the death of her husband several years ago, she continued to live in Strawberry Point until about two and one-half years ago when she went to live in Dubuque, at the Frommelt-Schaffer home. Death came at 11:50 a.m. on March 28 after a brief illness.

She is survived by two sons, Carl Henry Opperman of Maquoketa and Earl Opperman of Dubuque. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two sons and a daughter.
