Funeral services for Mrs. Wilhelmina Jessen, 87, were held at Emanuel Lutheran church in Strawberry Point Thursday afternoon, March 24, at 2:00 p.m. A short prayer service at the Gill Funeral chapel at 1:30 p.m. preceded the main service. The Rev. S. J. Meyer conducted the services and burial was in the Strawberry Point cemetery with the Gill Funeral service in charge of arrangements.
Wilhelmina Lamparter was born in the St. Sebald vicinity north of Strawberry Point on Feb. 14, 1863, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lamparter. She lived her entire life in this area and for many years worked at the hotel in Strawberry Point. On Nov. 26, 192_, she was married to Will Jessen, who died about four and a half years ago. She was a member of the Lutheran church and the Ladies Aid of that church.
She died at her home in Strawberry Point on March 21 at about 9:50 p.m., following an extended illness. She is survived by a brother, Fred Lamparter, address unknown, and several nieces and nephews.
