Herbert Henry Deal, son of Jacob and Mary Estella Burgoyne Deal, was born July 04, 1886, at Rossville, Iowa, and died Saturday, December 21, 1957, while shopping at Prairie du Chien, Wis., of a heart attack.

He received his education at the Rossville school.

On January 06, 1916, he was united in marriage to Henrietta Kruse at the Lutheran parsonage at Postville. After their marriage, they lived at Hardin for nine months, then for four years on his father's farm at Rossville. Then to farms near Luana and Farmersburg until 1937, when they moved to their present home in Farmersburg. Mr. Deal had been a representative for Occo feeds.

He was a member of the St. John Lutheran church, Farmersburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Delbert, Oct. 11, 1937, and a grandchild, Carol Kay Radloff, Feb. 03, 1945. Three sisters, Minnie Deal, Mrs. Maude Waterman, Mrs. Edith Cutler, and one brother, Arthur Deal.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Arno, Farmersburg; ____ daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Delpha) Radloff, Monona, _______ (Dana) Huckstadt, Farmersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Amos (Cora) Ames Postville; Mrs. Louis (Elsie) Brandt, Postville; two brothers, Guy Deal, Postville, and Ernest Deal, Waukon. Seven grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 24, 1957, at St. John Lutheran church, at 1:15 p.m., with the Rev. R. H. Steege officiating.

Burial was at the Farmersburg-Wagner cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers were: Elmer Ihde, Lester Oelke, Rudolph Kuhse, Hale Corlett, Henry Kutzbach, Fred Schultz, John Hagensick and Glendor Hamann. ____ pallbearers were Oscar Torkelson, Bruce Little, Marvni Klink__berg, Fred Reinman, LeRoy Reardon and Howard Muller.

____________ Mathews, Mrs. Br____ Little and Mrs. LeRoy Reardon had charge of the flowers.
