Winifred M. Dunn, daughter of Peter and Margaret Dunn, was born Jan. 23, 1881, in Clayton County, Iowa, and died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 1957, at the Memorial hospital in Prairie du Chien, Wis., following a stroke.

She received her education from St. Joseph's school.

Forty-three years ago she moved to Elkader from the family farm near Mederville.

Miss Dunn was a member of St. Joseph's Study club and the Lady Foresters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister in infancy and one brother, Peter Dunn.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Ella Looney, Elkader; three brothers, Clem Dunn, Waterloo; Earl Dunn, Rockford, Ill., and Jay Dunn, Elkader.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 21, 1957, at St. Joseph's Catholic church at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Father Francis Dunn, a nephew of Miss Dunn, sang the requiem mass, and the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Daniel A. Gorman officiated at the cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Stephen Leonard, Harold Downey, Norbert Niemeyer, Vincent Stence, Ambrose Whittle and Ed Finley.

Out-of-town relatives who attended the funeral were: Joe Dunn, Mason City; Don Raftis, Irving and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Looney and Arnold Bare, Oelwein; Mrs. Mae Friend, New Hampton; Dr. and Mrs. Justin Dunn, Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Clem Dunn and Mary Evelyn, Waterloo; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dunn, Rockford, Ill.; Mrs. Ed Looney, Mrs. Ray Looney, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed McNeal, Postville; Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Looney, Luana; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Quinn, Strawberry Point, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Connors and Michael, Madison, Wis.
