STRAWBERRY POINT: Miss Vera Hock, daughter of Fred Hock of Strawberry Point, became the bride of Richard W. Schwarz of Hazen, N.Dak., at St. Sebald Lutheran church near here, July 29. The Rev. A. L. Hock of St. Paul, Minn., brother of the bride, and the Rev. William Gebhard, pastor at St. Sebald, officiated. Miss Eva Schwarz of Waterloo, sister of the groom, served as maid of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Pauline Schwarz of Brenham, Texas, also a sister of the groom, and Miss Evelyn Hock of Minneapolis, sister of the bride. Paul Baumgartner of Strawberry Point, cousin of the bride, served as best man, and George Schuchmann Jr. and William Huebsch, both of Strawberry Point, were ushers.
At the reception for 100 at the home of the bride's father, Mrs. George Nodurft of Strawberry Point and Miss Hattie Hock of Fort Dodge poured and Miss Edna Baumgartner and Miss Eunice Baumgartner served. Jerry Baumgartner was in charge of the guest book,
The bride is a graduate of Strawberry Point high school and attended Wartburg college at Waverly. She has taught in the rural schools of this vicinity for several years, has been a teacher in the St. Sebald Sunday school since confirmation and has been active in the Luther League and the Women's Missionary society of that church. The groom attended Bismark junior college, N.Dak., and graduated from Wartburg college. He is now a student at Wartburg Theological seminary in Dubuque.
After a wedding trip to the Black Hills, the new couple will be at home in Dubuque.
