MONONA: The Evangelical United Brethren Church in Monona was the scene, Apr. 04, of the wedding of Miss Judith Elaine Grove, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Grove of Monona, and Gaylord Delano Oelke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord C. Oelke of Monona. The Rev. A. W. Ebert officiated. Mrs. Alan Butterfield, McGregor, served her sister as bride's matron. Bridesmaids were the misses Kay Enderes, Cedar Rapids, Marilyn Gibson, Earlville, Ill., and Margaret Musselis, Des Moines. Steve Hamann served as best man. Groomsmen were Kent Enderes, Cedar Rapids, Clyde Thompson and Francis Schulte, Monona. Seating the guests were, T. _. Shriver, Tripoli, cousin of the bride, and Michael Hamann, Monona.
At the reception for approximately 350 guests in the church parlors, Mrs. Eldon Shriver, Tripoli, aunt of the bride, and Mrs. Frederic Daugs, were hostesses. Mrs. Dennis Grove, Monona, sister-in-law of the bride, presided at the coffee service. Assisting in the serving was Miss Julaine Palas, St. Olaf, cousin of the groom.
The bride is a graduate of the Monona-Farmersburg Community school and has attended North Central at Naperville, Ill. and Iowa State College at Ames. Mr. Oelke is a graduate of the Monona-Farmersburg Community high school and attended Iowa State College at Ames. He is employed with the Armor-Clad Products in Mason City, where the new home will be made.
