In the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Monona, Dec. 27, Miss Sharon Le Moon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Moon of Monona, became the bride of Bernhard H. Ortgies of Manchester, son of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Ortgies pf Bruning, Nebr. Harry Moon of Cedar Rapids, cousin of the bride, sang several selections. The Rev. A. W. Ebert officiated. Miss Susan Albright, Mt. Vernon, served as maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Mrs. Keith Moon, Onalaska, Wis., cousin of the bride, and Mrs. Allen Severn, Monona. Tania Sue Thacher, Harmony, Minn., cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Roland Ortgies, Bruning, Neb., served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Keith Moon, Onalaska, Wis., and Ray Ellis, Manchester. Seating the guests were Roland Moon, Elkader, cousin of the bride, and Theodore Ortberg, Jefferson.
A reception for approximately 200 guests was held in the church parlor, at which Mrs. Art Moon and Mrs. Frederic Daugs were hostesses. Mrs. Theodore Ortberg, Jefferson, and Miss Alice Jane Forrest, Manchester, cut the cake, and Mrs. Donald Wirkler, Monona, cousin of the bride, and Miss Janet Mueller, Cedar Rapids, presided at the coffee service.
The bride is a graduate of the Monona-Farmersburg Community high school and has attended Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls. She is an instructor in the Manchester schools. Mr. Ortgies is a graduate of the Bruning, Neb., high school and Iowa State College. He is assigned to the resident engineer's office of the Iowa State Highway Commission at Manchester, where the couple will reside.
