At St. Paul's Lutheran church in Monona, Dec. 20, occurred the marriage of Karen June Thompson of Lansing to Allen Duane Severn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Severn of Postville. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Thompson of Monona are the parents of the bride. The Rev. R. C. Schlueter officiated. Mrs. Roger Thompson of Monona was matron of honor and John Falb, Iowa City, was best man.
At the reception in the church parlors for approximately 200 guests, Mrs. Frederick Daugs and Mrs. Gene Kling, Monona, served as hostesses. Mrs. Roger Fuelling, Farmersburg, and Mrs. Virgil Thompson, Monona, poured, and Mrs. Clifford Olson, Postville, sister of the groom, and Mrs. Henry Hemeseth, Ossian, cut the cake.
The bride is a graduate of the Monona-Farmersburg Community high school and Wartburg College at Waverly. She was an instructor in the public schools at Lansing. Mr. Severn is aa graduate of the Postville high school and is attending Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls.
The new couple will make their home at Maryville, Mo., after Jan. 01.
