MONONA: Jan. 11, in the Methodist church at Monona, Maxine Morris of Elma became the bride of John Blietz, Monona. The Rev. E. Wayne Hilmer officiated. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Johnson, Alta Vista, are the parents of the bride. Mr. Blietz is the son of Hugo Blietz and the late Mrs. Blietz of Monona. Mrs. John Gorman Jr., Alta Vista, attended her sister as bride's matron, maid of honor was Miss Delores Starr, Alta Vista, niece of the bride. Jane Morris, Alta Vista, niece of the bride, was flower girl, and Charles Morris, Alta Vista, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer. Hugo Blietz Jr., Marquette, served his brother as best man, and groomsman was Herbert Starr, Alta Vista, nephew of the bride. Miss Bonnie Holly, Monona, had charge of the guest book.

A reception for approximately 150 guests was held in the church parlors, where Mrs. Charles Starr Jr., Elma, and Miss Genevieve Holly, Monona, cousin of the groom, were hostesses.

The bride is a graduate of the Riceville high school and has attended Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls. She is a graduate of the Waterloo School of Beauty Culture and a member of Kappa Delta Chi. Mr. Blietz is a graduate of the Monona high school and the State University of Iowa. He has served three and one-half years in the U.S. Army. He has been employed as bookkeeper at the Huinker Chevrolet garage in Monona.
