Records found on FamilySearch.org.

Iowa, County Marriages 1838-1934 show a marriage for Edward Shield to Sarah M. Wilson on 24 December 1865 in Black Hawk County.

They also show an 1870 census of Bates County, Missouri, for a household consisting of:
Edward Shields 25 b. England
Sarah Shields 21 b. Iowa
Flora Shields 3 b. Iowa
Rosa Shields 0 Missouri

On the same census page just above the entry for Edward Shields, are two Wilson households, one for Jo Wilson 25 , possibly John?, wife Elizabeth 24, and 3 children. The other is for G. W. Wilson 63, wife Ann 55, with an apparently married daughter and grandchild.

There is also a christening record for an Edward Shields, son of Robert and Ann dated 17 July 1842 in Owthorne, York, England.
