M. Stewart Dies At 87

Mrs. Margaret E. Stewart, 87, 302 E. Burlington, died Monday, 2:45 p.m., at Jefferson County Hospital. She had been in failing health the past six months.

Mrs. Stewart was born May 4, 1889 in Van Buren County, the daughter of James and Mary Channel Mercer. On Ded. 27, 1911 she married Roy Stewart who died July 27, 1951. The deceased lived in this community over 78 years and was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church.

Surviving are one son, Kenneth E. Stewart, 801 N. Main and one daughter, Beulah M. Blough of Route 1, Fairfield; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, 2 p.m., at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne L. Bartruff officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Douds in Van Buren County.
