Irene Lundberg

A graveside service for Irene Lundberg, 85, of Burlington former area resident, who died at 1991, at Burlington Medical Center in Burlington, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield with the Rev. Richard Wallarab officiating. Visitation is open at Raymond Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to Fairfield Public Library.

Mrs. Lundberg was born Dec., 1905, at Stockport, the daughter of Jessie Edward and Mary Elizabeth Workman Fleming. She grew up and attended school in Stockport and Fairfield, graduating from Fairfield High School. She lived in Skokie, Ill., Waterloo, and moved to Fairfield in 1952. She later lived in El Paso, Texas, and for the past several years in Burlington. She was baptized in the Stockport Christian Church. She was a member of AARP, was a dining room hostess at the Fairfield Elks Lodge for a number of years and worked as a salesclerk at Younkers in Burlington. She married Hugo A. "Swede" Lundberg on March 17, 1929, in Moline, Ill. He died June 18, 1952.

Surviving are a sister, Fern Glotfelty of Decatur, Ala.; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A son, Gary F., a brother, Gene Fleming and a sister, Beryl Beck, preceded her in death.
