Archibald O. Deao

Archibald O. Deao, 79, of rural Stockport, died 11:15 a.m., Thursday, July 7, 1988, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.

He was born Jan. 20, 1909, at Kingston, the son of Orlando and Anna Jacobe Deao. In 1945, he married Margaret Schrader who preceded him in death.

On May 21, 1964, at Kahoka, he married Arlene Lay. The past 50 years he farmed in the Stockport and Lockridge communities.

Surviving are his wife; five sons: James, Washington; Howard and Roger, Stockport; Robert, Lockridge; and Randy, at home; a daughter, Mrs. James (Linda) Pohren, Salem; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Earl, Ed and William; and two sisters: Dora and Edith.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 9 from the Lockridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Hembry officiating. Intement(err) will be in Lockridge Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m., Friday at the Beatty-Wilkins Funeral Home where visitation will begin after 9 a.m. Friday. A memorial has been established in his name.
