Ratcliffe rites at Birmingham

Maurice Keith Ratcliffe, 78, of Carthage, Mo., died at 2:48 p.m. Monday at the McCune-Brooks Hospital in Carthage.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham with the Rev. John Wilken officiating. Behner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ratcliffe was born May 8, 1904 near Douds, the son of John H. and Mary Jane Moore Ratcliffe. A machinist, he worked on the Southern Pacific Railroad and had lived in the Carthage area for over eight years.

Surviving are one son, Roger of San Francisco, Calif.; two grandchildren; two brothers, C.H. Ratcliffe of Amarillo, Texas, Ralph A. of Soquel, Calif., and one sister, Mabel Bachman of Ft. Collins, Colo. his parents, two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
