10 - 82Pearl Avery rites to be Thursday
BIRMINGHAM - Funeral services for Pearl E. Avery, 85, of Birmingham, who died Tuesday morning at the home of his niece Mrs. Carl Septer in Lockridge, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. The Rev. Reg Merrill will officiate. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery at Milton. Friends may call as they desire at the funeral home.
Avery was born Jan. 23, 1897, the son of Oren and Nellie Brockway Avery. On May 14, 1966 he married Gladys Glover at Birmingham. She survives Gladys Glover at Birmingham. She survives at Bethesda Care Center Muscatine.
A member of the American Legion Post in Mt. Pleasant, he served in the U.S. Infantry in World War I. He was retired, having farmed in the Birmingham community.
