Paul E. Baker

Paul E. Baker, 77, formerly of rural Arbela, Mo., and Cantril, Iowa, died Saturday, May 19, 1990, in Vaca Valley Hospital, Vacaville, Calif.

Born July 12, 1912, near Memphis, Mo., he was the son of Oly E. and Hannah Price Phillips March 4, 1933. She died in 1985. He married Madeline Francis Lucas September 8, 1986, in Lake Tahoe, Nev.

He taught at the Azen, Mo. school, farmed near Arbela and was a truck driver for Kahoka Cheese Factory. He retired to Cantril in 1985 and moved to California in 1986.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Lila Jameson, W. Caldwell, N.J.; a son, James Baker, West Burlington; two step-daughters, Kfay Kneuppel, Palmyra, Mo. and Anne Francis, Vacaville, Calif.; a sister an brother; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after noon Thursday with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m.

The service for Mr. Baker will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua with the Rev. Gerald Caughron officiating. Burial will be in Prairie View Cemetry near Azen, Mo.

A memorial has been established for the American Heart Association.

Paul E. Baker

Paul E. Baker, son of Oly E. and Hannah Price Baker, was born July 13, 1911 near Memphis, Mo. and died the evening of Saturday, May 19, 1990 at Vaca Valley Hospital, Vacaville, California at the age of 78. He married Mabel Phillips March 4, 1933 at Kahoka, Mo. She died in 1985. On September 8, 1987 he married Madeline Francis Lucas at Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Lila June Jameson, and her husband, Fred, West Caldwell, New Jersey, a son, James Baker and his wife, Gwen, West Burlington, Iowa, two step daughters, Kay Kneuppel and her husband, Maurice, Palmyra, Missouri and Anne Francis and her husband, Buck, Vacaville, ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren, a brother, and a sister. A son, Larry Paul, two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Early in life Paul taught the Azen school, farmed many years near Arbela, Mo and was a trucker for the Kahoka Cheese Factory. He retired to Cantril, Iowa in 1985 and moved to California in 1986.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 25, 1990 at 10:30 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Rev. Gerald Caughron officiating. Burial will be in Prairieview Cemetery west of Azen, Mo. A memorial is established for the American Heart Association.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 24, 1990 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home.
