Services for Elizabeth Parsons, 97, of Gladbrook, Iowa, who died Wednesday, January 3, 1990 at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center of natural causes, were held at the United Methodist Church with Reverend Steve Williams officiating. Burial was in Crystal Cemetery near Gladbrook.
She was born July 3, 1892 at Douds to George W. and Radellia Sampson Morrow. She attended school in the Oak Grove community and then attended Normal School in Ottumwa.
On March 25, 1914 at Douds, she married Jay H. Parsons and they lived in the Douds area until moving to Gladbrook in 1952.
She was a member of Eastern Star, United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a great-grandson, and 10 brothers and sisters.
Surviving are a son, Carrol D. Parsons, Gladbrook; a daughter, Elouise (Mrs. Clifton) Gillispie; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, George Morrow, Fullerton, California.
