Donald Saner

Donald L. Saner, 59, of Douds, Iowa Route 1, died November 29, 1990, at Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City.

He was born March 28, 1931, in Davis County to Jack and Dorothy Herbert Saner. He married Julia A. Liles on October 17, 1953, in Davis County.

He was reared and educated in Davis County and spent most of his adult life in Van Buren and Davis-counties. He was employed by Rock Island Railroad, Douds Stone and former Van Buren Manufacturing in Keosauqua until his disability. He was and Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by six sons, Clifford, Francis, Jake and Rodney of Douds, Marvin of Eldon, and John of Fort Byron, Ill.; three daughters, Barbara Haskell of Centerville, Pam Schafer of Gibson, Fla., and Gale Saner of Douds; seven grandchildren; six sisters, Icel Fisk and Bertha Kern, of Eldon, Helen "Arlene" Bonner of Estherville, Nora Feagins of Fort Madison, Dora Sloan of New London and Shirley DePue of Ottumwa; and two brothers, Ralph of Eldon and Howard of Allerton.

The body has been cremated.

Memorials were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, December 2, 1990 at Campbell-Kremer Funeral Home in Eldon, with Mr. Steve Luse officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery near Floris at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the family.
