Funeral Services For Pioneer Story County Woman

Maxwell, July 9--Funeral services for Lucy Serbein, 88, who died at 8 o'clock Wednesday morning from injuries sustained when she fell in her home early Sunday morning, will be held in the Methodist church at Maxwell at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, with the pastor, the Rev. John C. Turner, in charge. Burial will be made in the family lot in the Maxwell cemetery beside her husband who died 51 years ago.

Survivors are her five children, Ida Serbein Peterson of Maxwell, (Olga) Mrs. G. W. Baldwin of Rolfe, (Louise) Mrs. J. H. Dauber, of Marshalltown, Oscar M. of Collins and Clyde M. of near Marshalltown, with whom she made her home.

The Serbeins had been residents of Story county for sixty years or more, locating first at Nevada and a short time later moving to Maxwell, which was the family home until 1919 when Mrs. Serbein moved to Marshalltown. There she made her home until 1932, when she went to live with her son Clyde, on a farm near LaMoille.
