Funeral Service Held at Sheldahl for Lewis E. Adams

Slater, April 16 -- Funeral services for Lewis E. Adams, 70, were held at the home Saturday afternoon at 1:30 and 2 o'clock at the Methodist church in Sheldahl. Rev. C. A. Lindberg had charge of the services.The beautiful floral offerings were arranged by Mrs. John Graeber, Mrs. John Scott and Mrs. Otis Aleman. A quartette composed of Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Peterson, Mrs. John Boda of Sheldahl and A. A. Chader of Slater, sang two selections, "Rock of Ages" and "No Night There." Lester Moore sang and solo, "Sunrise Tomorrow."
The pallbearers were Martin Sheldahl, Wesley Berggren, John Scott, P. O. Louks, Harvey Hunt and Clint Burkey.
Burial was made in the Sheldahl cemetery. He is survived ty his wife and two sons, Harold of Pilot Mound and Estol at home, also three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Jaques of Berwick, Mrs. Anna Christianson of Grants Pass, Ore. and Mrs. Cora Young of Sheldahl, a brother, Frank Adams of Meridan, Ia., and one granddaughter of Pilot Mound.
Lewis Ellsworth Adams was born in Oskaloosa, May 14, 1870, and died at his home near Slater April 9, 1941.
He was married to Dessie Rasmussen at Kalispell, Mont., in 1910 and they made their home there until 1923 when they came to Iowa and settled in Pilot Mound. In 1929 they moved to this community. He was a member of the Christiaan church at Bondurant, which he joined while they lived in that community.
