Clipping is from the Ames Intelligencer. The Anniversary was Sept 17, 1885---
Monday last, about fifty couple, relatives and friends, met at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. James Noble, near Gilbert, to celebrate their thirty-seventh wedding anniversary. Such a bountiful dinner has not been my good fortune to sit down to in many years. If those who cry failure of crops had been present to see a table the breadth of King Soper's mill, ladened with the luxuries of life, they would have come to the conclusion that people along Skunk River have still an abundance and are remarkably good livers. The presents were as follows: two easy chairs by his four sons - a well merited favor for their parent's declining years; walking cane from John Noble; bread knife from Mrs. John Noble; glass honey dish from Mrs. J. Dodds; glass fruit dish from Mrs. Dudley Arasmith; fuche from Mrs. Soper and neck tie from King Soper; apron from Mrs. John Rich; glass pitcher from Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong; pair of gloves from Maggie Bradford; glass breadplate from Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mapes; glass cake stand from Mr. and Mrs. Hardcastle; set glass fruit dishes from Mrs. S. Young; glass fruit dish from Mrs. J Keigley; glass salt dish, J. Decker; $12.50 cash by the guests.
