40th anniversary open house held for Mr.& Mrs. Ward Wierson of Story City

The children of Mr. and Mrs. Ward Wierson honored them on their 40th wedding anniversary with an open house at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Frandsen. Mrs. Alan Meeker, daughter, presided at the guest book. The serving table featured the traditional ruby color with a red carnation centerpiece, decorated cakes, red punch, and mints.
The punch and coffee were served by sisters of the honorees. Sonja Frandsen and Linda Madson took care of gifts and trays.
A dinner at the Norseman was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Wierson. Guests included the couple's children, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Frandesen, Sonja and Julie, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Wierson and Trevor, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Meeker and Lee. Also Mrs. Martin Wierson and Mrs. S. B. Severson, mothers, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Moffitt, Raytown, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dobson and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Severson of Cedar Rapids, Mr. Paul Severson of St. Paul, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Gene Madsen of Ft. Dodge, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Wierson, Mr. and Mrs. Don Opheim, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Wierson, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Wierson, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Swett, Mr. and Mrs. David Wierson, Mr. and Mrs. Andy Fauerby all of Ames, and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Meeker of Iowa Falls.
Mr. and Mrs. Wierson were married on June 23, 1935 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames by the Reverend Amos W. Stolen.
Special guests at the event were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hubbard of Lakeland, Florida, aunt and uncle.
