Henry Maniett was born Sept. 1862 in Washington, D.C. His father, Joseph was born in France. (The 1900 Davenport census lists b. in Germany in error) His mother, Catherine was born in Bavaria.

In addition to the 1900 census of Davenport, I located a passport for 1892, which was notarized by a cousin in Washington, D.C. He was staying briefly at Catholic University in DC prior to his trip abroad for 3 months.
