OBITUARY - EDWARD C. WOOD

Edward C. WOOD, son of Barbara and David WOOD, was born September 26, 1886, near Mount Ayr, Iowa, and passed away after a short illness on August 1, 1935, at the hospital in Creston, Iowa, aged 49 years, ten months and five days.

He was married to Lois THOMPSON on April 29, 1911. To this union were born four children, Berwin, Velmar, Erma and one child who died in infancy. His wife, Lois, passed away August 9, 1922.

On February 28, 1928, he was united in marriage with Edna POTTER. To this union were born three children, Alberta, aged six, Ronald, aged four, and Shirley, aged two.

He was preceded in death by his father, his brother Roy, and his step-brother, Dellitt THOMPSON. Besides his wife and children, those left to mourn his departure are his mother. Mrs. S. L. THOMPSON, and step-father, S. L. THOMPSON; one step-daughter, Pauline; three sisters, Mrs. Bert GILBERT, of Denver, Colo., Mrs. O. N. VANCE of Medicine Lake, Mont., and Mrs. Corwin MAIN of Mount Ayr, Iowa; three brothers, Fred of Columbia Falls, Mont., Orvalle of Montana, and Clarence of Ellston, Iowa; one half-sister, Muriel THOMPSON, of Des Moines, Iowa; one half-brother, Kenneth THOMPSON, of Mount Ayr, Iowa; one step-sister, Mrs. Park ELLISON of Ellston, Iowa; two step-brothers, Newell and Wilford THOMPSON, of Mitchell, S. D., and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Methodist church in Mount Ayr, conducted by J. R. TALLEY, and interment made in the Oliver cemetery.
