December 16, 2008OBITUARY - MARY MARDELL EMIG
MARION - Mary Mardell EMIG, 93, of 455 First St., died at her home Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, after a short illness.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, First United Methodist Church, Marion, by the Rev. Mike MORGAN. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Survivors include three sons, Richard and Charles EMIG, both of Marion, and Dan (Sheri CHAPMAN) EMIG of Ely; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mardell was born on Aug. 21, 1915, in Afton, to James and Grace McCRACKIN. She married Harold Emig on Jan. 19, 1936, in Kellerton. He died in 2000. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Women's Circle and the American Legion Auxiliary. Mardell was a Gold Star Mother. Mardell liked to garden, but her top priority was her family, spending time with them and attending all their events.
