DEATH of MATE GERMAN.
Marius E. GERMAN was born in Mt. Ayr, October 4, 1881, and died at the home Saturday, July 22, 1899, aged 17 years, nine months and 18 days. The deceased has been a resident of Mt. Ayr all his life, with the exception of a few years spent in Kansas visiting his sister. He was in the employ of the Ringgold Mercantile Company until three months ago, when his health gave way and he was compelled to quit work. He was suffering with the dread disease of consumption, which had previously carried off a brother and sister, and he rapidly declined, the end coming peacefully Saturday evening.
Mate was a genial companion, and had many warm friends among his associates. Before his death, he accepted the Savior and expressed himself as ready and willing to go. The funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home by Elder J. J. RUPPERT of Redding, assisted by Rev. H. P. DUDLEY and Rev. C. E. WELLS of this city. The interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery. The bereaved father and mother, brothers and sisters have much sympathy in their sore affliction.
