Funeral services for Emma L. Birkhofer, 87, Moscow, will be held Jan. 12, 1989 at the Wilton Presbyterian church, with burial in the Oakdale cemetery in Wilton. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Jan. 11, with an Eastern Star Service at 7:30 p.m. at Lacock Funeral Home in Wilton.
Mrs. Birkhofer died Jan. 9 at the Muscatine Care Center.
Emma Willroth married Elmer Pahl in 1920. He died in 1921. She married Harry Birkhofer in 1931. He died in 1962.
Mrs. Birkhofer taught piano and organ for many years in the Wilton and Moscow areas. She was a 50 year plus member of Purity Chapter 365, Order of Eastern Star, and was a member and organist at the Presbyterian church for many years. She was a graduate of the Central College of Music in Moline, Ill.
She is survived by a daughter, Marjorie Fulton, Whitten; a son, Lyle Birkhofer, Moscow; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
