Last rites for Louis R. Williams, 85, a native of West Liberty, were held in Wapello Dec. 12 with burial in Oak Ridge cemetery, West Liberty.

The son of William J. and May Shelter Williams, he was born at West Liberty June 5, 1903. He was educated in the Wilton schools. He married Helen Scott in Des Moines March 21, 1931. They farmed near West Liberty and Cranston before moving to Wapello in 1941 where they continued to farm.

He is survived by his wife; 3 sons, Scott, West Burlington; Donald, Wapello; Bill, Lake George, Colo.; a daughter, Mrs. William L. (Patricia) Matthews, Wapello; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Clifford, Las Cruces, N.M. and Stanley, Cottonwood, Calif.; 2 sisters, Marjorie Lewis, Atalissa and Mrs. Dan (Dorothy) Crow, Davenport. He was preceded in death by a daughter and a brother.
