Funeral rites for Margaret Bottomley, 78, a native of West Liberty, were held Dec. 12 with burial at Oak Ridge cemetery, West Liberty. She died at the Bettendorf Health center, Davenport, Dec. 9.

The daughter of Daniel and Loretta Smith, she was born at West Liberty July 12, 1910 and graduated from West Liberty high school in 1928. She worked as a secretary for Dr. Albert Ady and moved to Davenport in 1954 where she was employed by the Davenport Outing club.

She is survived by a sister, Lucille McClurkin, Davenport and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother.
