Elaine Sedrel, 81, of Oskaloosa, died Sunday, May 11 , in Des Moines General Hospital, Des Moines.
Service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Congregational United Church of Christ, Oskaloosa, the Rev. Katherine Mulhern officiating. Interment: Forest Cemetery, Oskaloosa. Visitation begins 9 a.m. Tuesday at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa, with family present 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials: St. Paul Congregational United Church of Christ or Hospice of Mahaska County.
Mrs. Sedrel was born Nov. 1, 1915, in Hubbard to P.M. and Cora Cox Rich. On June 24, 1944, she married Marion Paul Sedrel in Oskaloosa. He died June 4, 1995. She attended Whittier Elementary School in Oskaloosa and was a 1933 graduate of Oskaloosa High School. She attended William Penn College. She was a member of St. Paul Congregational United Church of Christ, PEO Chapter IO and Silver Cross Circle of King's Daughters.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands: Barbara and Dr. Michael Fleener of Bettendorf and Martha and Tom Gillespie of Oskaloosa; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Marion. (The Oskaloosa Herald, date unknown)
