New Sharon - Bevan Lyle Bunting, 73, of New Sharon, died Sunday, May 11, in Mahaska County Hospital, Oskaloosa.
Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Union Mills Christian Church, the Rev. Kerry Lake officiating. Interment: Union Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday at Harden Funeral Home, New Sharon, with family present 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials: Iowa Seeing Eye Dogs for the Blind Foundation.
Mr. Bunting was born Sept. 15, 1923, in Lacey to Fred S. and Hannah Newport Bunting. On Jan. 29, 1941, he married Inez Lloyd in Lancaster, Mo. He had been a farmer in the New Sharon area all of his life. He was a member of Union Mills Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Inez of New Sharon; a son and his wife: Francis and Virginia Bunting of Montezuma; two granddaughters; two brothers and three sisters-in-law: Dwight and Beulah Bunting, Ivan and Juanita Bunting and Phyllis Butning, all of Oskaloosa; two nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Fred Bunting. (The Oskaloosa Herald, date unknown)
