Edwin (Ji) Simpson of Des Moines died at his home there Sunday, Jan. 31, following a heart attack. He was 78 years of age.

Mr. Simpson had spent his early life in Madison county, and was employed in the United Food store in Winterset when that firm first started in business here. For the last 40 years he had worked as a salesman, living in Des Moines.

He is survived by two sons, Edwin Simpson, Jr., of Denver, Colo., and Hobart Simpson of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Huglin of St. Charles and Mrs. Bernice Franford of Des Moines; and five grandchildren.

He was an uncle of Mrs. Robert Start and John Mahan of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Friday from the Hamilton Funeral home in Des Moines, with burial in Blair Chapel cemetery in Madison county.
