Funeral services for Raymond L. Strable, 53, of Denver, Colo., were held today at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Martensdale. Interment was at Blair Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Strable died Wednesday at American Medical Cancer Hospital in Denver.

Born in Warren County, he lived in Des Moines for several years before moving to Denver in 1961. A veteran of World War II, he worked for C. F. Martens and Son in Martensdale for a few years after the war. He was employed by Vickers Oil Co., in Des Moines and Denver.

Surviving him are two daughters, Mrs. Carol North, Mrs. Janice Webb; two sons, Raymond, jr and James, all of Exeter, Calif.; and nine grandchildren. Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Etta Mae Strable, of Indianola; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Hensen of St. Marys, Mrs. Helen Whitlow of Winterset; three brothers, Charles Strable, of St. Charles, Clifford Strable, of West Burlington and Rex Strable, of Rio Rancho, N.M.

Wanda Strable, Rachel Roth and Connie Kephart attended the funeral of their nephew and cousin, Raymond Strable of Denver, Colo., at Martensdale Lutheran Church, Monday at 2:30 p.m. Burial was at Blair Chapel Cemetery.
