Truro News

G. W. Clevinger, one of our old residents died last Thursday evening at the ripe age of 87 years. Short funeral services were held at the house at 3 p.m. Friday afternoon after which the remains were laid to rest in the Young Cemetery.

Transcriber notes: The obituary was transcribed as written using Clevinger. Surname on headstone is spelled Cleavinger. Other mentions in Winterset newspapers also use the spelling Clevenger.

Newspapers identify that two daughters visited here to care for him prior to his death: Mrs. B. E. Gilbert and daughter, Ola, of Kansas (Winterset Madisonian, Thursday, August 22, 1906, Page 8) and Wilbur Bullin and wife, of Oberlin, Kansas (Winterset Madisonian, Thursday, August 8, 1907, Page 8)
