Fred Overton Funeral Set

Services for Fred J. Overton, 65, of 3127 Maury St., who died of a heart ailment Tuesday at Iowa Methodist Hospital, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. Burial will be in Avon Cemetery.

Born in Polk County, Mr. Overton lived in Winterset before moving to Des Moines 30 years ago. He was a drill press operator at Des Moines Steel Co. before his retirement in 1962. He was a member of the Church in Christ.

Surviving are his wife, Emily; three daughters, Mrs. Bernice Burton and Mrs. Audrey Faber in California and Mrs. Minnie Fuller in Massachusetts; four sons, Lyle, Russell and Gary of Des Moines, and Robert in Missouri; three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Lovejoy in California and Mrs. Truie Low and Mrs. Daisy Lundy of Des Moines; two brothers, Lewis of Des Moines and Harley of Newell; 14 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
