Olaf Hanson

Beresford, S. D. – Olaf Hanson, 81, of Beresford died Monday in a hospital in Sioux Falls.

Services will be Wednesday in the United Methodist Church in Beresford. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Rock Rapids, Iowa, under the direction of the Wass Funeral Home of Beresford.

Mr. Hanson was born Jan. 5, 1903, in Rock Rapids. He attended Iowa State University and was employed at a lumber yard in Rock Rapids. He later moved to Orient, S.D., where he managed a lumber yard for a short time before moving to Beresford where he managed the Thompson Lumber Yard for many years.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Amelia Moeller of Rock Rapids and Mrs. Julia Durham of Lemon Grove, Calif. (Source: Sioux City Journal, Sioux City, IA., Tues.,21 Feb 1984, pg. 14)
